BrainStation AI Data Analytics Certification: Format, Curriculum and Cost

What the course is

BrainStation calls the course its AI Data Analytics Certification. If you complete it successfully, you earn the AI Data Analyst Certification (DAC™), which BrainStation suggests adding to your LinkedIn profile and resume. When we checked, the curriculum on the page was labeled DAC-2026Q3.^[1]

BrainStation says it was established in 2012 and offers live, instructor-led training in AI, data, product management, marketing and design. Its global headquarters is in New York, and it also has spaces in London and Toronto.^[4]

Classes are taught live by data practitioners. BrainStation says its instructors work at companies such as Amazon, Meta and Microsoft and use AI in their daily analytics work.^[1]

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

BrainStation's FAQ says no prior experience is required: the course is beginner-friendly and does not assume a coding or data background. It also pitches the course to people who already work with data and want to formalize their skills and add AI to their toolkit.^[1]

The format suits people who do better with a class, a cohort and a schedule. If you have to miss a session, BrainStation says its team will help you catch up, but it also says sessions are live and hands-on, so attendance should be a priority.^[1]

• You need a self-paced course you can fit around shifts or irregular hours.
• The jobs you want ask for Python or statistics, which are not among the listed tools.
• You want to see a published price before you speak to anyone.

What the curriculum covers

The course is split into three units. Each teaches a core analytics skill and pairs it with an AI tool: BrainStation names Claude in every unit.^[1]

The concept list on the page also includes data types, regular expressions, database normalization, the data analysis lifecycle and prompt engineering. BrainStation's FAQ says AI is an accelerator, not a replacement for analytical skill, and that the fundamentals stay at the core of the course.^[1]

You build one real-world data analysis project step by step through the course. By the end, BrainStation says, you will have worked through each stage of the analysis process, used MySQL and visualization tools, and produced a presentation that explains your process and your findings.^[1]

Schedule and time commitment

BrainStation describes a part-time, eight-week program for working professionals. It has three hours of live instruction a week, taken in person in New York, Toronto or London, or entirely live online. Students typically spend another two to four hours a week on their project.^[1]

Online classes use breakout rooms for team work on projects, and students and instructors talk in a Slack community. The New York campus is at 136 Crosby St, 4th Floor, in SoHo.^[1][2]

On September 30, 2026, the online page showed September 2026 as closed and October, November and December 2026 as now reserving. It did not list class days or times, so ask for the schedule in your time zone before you reserve.^[1]

Tuition, payment and the fine print

When we checked on September 30, 2026, neither the online nor the New York course page showed a tuition figure. The FAQ says BrainStation offers flexible payment options, including payment plans and partial scholarships subject to eligibility, and that a Learning Advisor can help you choose.^[1][2]

BrainStation says the course qualifies for most corporate learning and development budgets. It offers an Employer Sponsorship Package with a syllabus breakdown and an expense justification letter to help you ask your manager to pay.^[1]

• For users in the US, the contracting party is BrainStation LP, a Delaware limited partnership with offices in New York.
• Courses come with extra contract terms, which BrainStation says it provides before you enroll. It also says its part-time and training courses are not registered under any local statutes or regulations.
• Discounts and scholarships have no cash value, must be used toward an enrollment fee within 12 weeks of being issued, and cannot be combined.
• The terms send most disputes to binding arbitration or small claims court, except where the law prohibits it.

Limitations to weigh

• Price, refund rules and class times are not public on the course page.
• The DAC is BrainStation's own credential. The course page does not describe it as accredited or mention college credit.
• Classes are live on a fixed schedule, so the course is less flexible than self-paced options.
• The listed tools are Excel, MySQL, Tableau, Claude and Canva; Python is not among them.

• A portfolio project helps only if you can explain your choices; keep notes as you build it.
• Some employers ask for a degree or prior experience, whatever certificates you hold.

Alternatives to compare

• IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate on Coursera: self-paced and online, with Python as well as Excel and SQL. Coursera lists 11 courses and estimates four months at ten hours a week.
• CourseCareers Data Analytics Course: self-paced and online, covering Excel, Tableau, SQL and Python, for $499 up front or four payments of $150.
