Google Data Analytics Certificate: what the courses cover, what they take and what they cost
The Google Data Analytics Certificate is an online program on Coursera, created by Google for beginners.
Google describes eight core courses, and Coursera also lists an optional ninth course on job searching with AI. No degree or prior experience is required, and Google says it takes under six months with under ten hours of study a week.
The courses move from data basics to asking good questions, preparing and cleaning data, analysis, visualization and a capstone case study, using tools such as spreadsheets, SQL, Python and Tableau. In the US and Canada, Google lists a subscription of $49 a month after a 7-day free trial.

Check before you decide
- A certificate is not a degree, and it does not guarantee a job or a particular salary.
- The subscription is billed monthly, so the total cost depends on how long you take. Cancel before any free trial ends if you do not want to be charged.
- Google's time estimate assumes steady weekly study, and your pace may be different.
- Statistics, regression and machine learning are covered in Google's separate advanced certificate, not in this one.
